cashing in on a once brilliant series! July 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Janet must be laughing all the way to the bank! She should be ashamed of herself. She has taken what was a fantastic series and blemished it with this pathetic tale. No real plot, a parody of itself: there is nothing good about this book. I thought the 'in-between the numbers' books were the most pathetic, clearly I was wrong. This book is terrible. I will not be purchasing anymore of her books. Its up to Charlaine Harris to keep series writing going!
not so fearless July 6, 2008 waited so long for this book was so dissappionted reread thirteen waiting for the next chapter over the underware with the name written in it and it was not mentioned she seemed not so bothered about ranger anymore and morelli has gone to soft when he used to be sooo dangerous and tank was hard and unapproachable now he is just daft i to will still get book fifteen hoping it will be back on track but i will read the reviews first or get it from the library
Plum back on form July 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the funniest Stephanie Plum novel there's been for a long time. This time Stephanie has to track down a petty thief called Loretta, who unfortunately is kidnapped. Stephanie ends up babysitting Loretta's son Mario. Loretta's crazy brother Dom thinks that Joe Morelli is the father of Loretta's son. He also thinks that Morelli has nine million dollars buried under his house.
Mario (otherwise known as Zook) is something of a problem. first there is his passion for playing a computer game called Minionfire, and soon he has infected Grandma Mazur and all her friends with his passion. Then there is his mania for spray-painting everything with graffiti, including Morelli's dog.
There are various other complications, and the story just kept making me laugh all the way through. Janet Evanovich is funnier than ever.
Not enough Ranger! June 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoyed this book, it was a good way to kill a few hours and made me feel happy, but I just feel that there was not enough Ranger, not enough danger, nothing much blew up and it's like Stephanie Plum got sensible and it's just wrong. She needs to be daft, careless and in imminent danger for the books to work and while this one ran the usual way it felt a little bit safe, nothing too exciting. I can barely even remember the storyline for goodness sake. I love these books and it's like reading about an old friend, but I think maybe the friendship has run its course and I might not get in touch as often anymore...
