Go With The Flow! May 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
What I like best about this book is the visual metaphor it uses to illustrate the process of manifestation. Basically, it reminds you that if you are experiencing "bad" feelings, you are paddling upstream (and headed away from what you want), and if you are experiencing "good" feelings, you are paddling downstream (and headed toward what you want). Obviously, to get where you want to go in life it is easier to go "with" the flow rather than "against" it! It occurs to me, though, that this valuable lesson will be lost on people who have a hard time accepting the source of this material -- a channeled group of non-physical entities called Abraham. For the more spiritually traditional readers out there, I would suggest a book called "Row, Row, Row Your Boat: A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow." You can tell from the title that it uses the same metaphor, but this author describes the manifestation process as "cooperating with the divine flow of God's guidance." Similar idea. Different language.

The synopsis says it all...This leading-edge (ER... WHAT?!) book by Esther and Jerry Hicks, who present the teachings of the Non-Physical entity Abraham, will help you understand the emotions that you've been experiencing all of your life.
NON-PHYSICAL ABRAHAM??? Well, I am a bit bemused. I bought this book without quite reading the reviews properly. It sits somewhere in between Waco and well wacko.
If you want to find a path to greater peace then chose something that is tried and tested like meditation, the Tao or Buddhism but dear old Mr and Mrs Hicks???? Someone is laughing all the way to the bank. Now maybe non-physical entities exist but why would 'they' talk exclusively to a lady who then makes shed loads of money out of their words????
If I happen to hear from Abraham you will find out about it in my book....
consolation in hard times, and making good times super April 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
From what ever dire straith we are in, we can feel a bit better about it, and think about in a way that gives us relief, this in my perception is the premise of this book. What would be nice is to read real life examples of people who have put the processes into practice. I did the one on relationships and did feel better about the whole situation. These thoughts patterns have another positive side effect, they put us into a situation which will allow us to act and regain our emotional stability. They seem simple, deceptively so, but they are powerful. Sometimes its the simple things which have the most profound effect.
