The Canon 18x50 IS unique among high magnification binoculars because they incorporate Canon's remarkable Optical Image Stabilizer technology, I have got the canon 70-200mm IS lens and I know the advantage of having image stabilization in hand hold object like binoculars specially when you are shooting sports events like horse racing football match, the IS technology will proof it’s importance in the filed of professional result, high quality images, and clarity of images in low light condition.
Though the weight of canon 18x50 IS bit heavy but the IS ability overcomes it’s weight and you do not have to use tripods as you need to use tripod in some other brand binoculars like 16x50, or 20x50 without IS technology.
Good thing about it is that you can attach 58mm filter to protect the objectives on this binoculars, even you don’t need to use lens cap. |
