The canon 70-200 is the best lens you can get in this zoom range for the Canon EOS series. It's not the cheapest and it's not the lightest, but it's the best. The 7-200mm IS lens is fast and quick in focusing, it has high quality optics, the build quality is very solid, durable and the image stabilization (IS) feature works great for hand held shooting. If you shoot hand held in low light condition, you should get this lens. If you always use a tripod, you don't really need IS system have a look at the less expensive non IS version of Canon Zoom lens. If you always shoot in good light, the lighter and even less expensive 70-200mm f4 may do the job for you. But for me that always do not like to use tripod, the extra stop of light and the IS system make the difference between unusable images and great images. even I have taken a shot in 1/15th of a second without using tripod the result was very sharp and clear, I will rate this lens the best of all in Canon zoom lenses. |
