This is clearly a poor man's "McPherson Tapes". Anyone who likes this movie clearly as no idea of what makes a good film. Its probably someone who watches "The Simple Life" or plays on PSP's.
rec 2007 June 11, 2008 i thoroughly enjoyed this movie. classic zombie creepiness. a few real scares , subtitles apart it really got me into the film. and with the crew filming the documentary. i would say it was one of the best this year. come on britain , another zombie movie. awayfrom 28 days. this is what we want
REC: Better than you could ever imagine. May 28, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Barely released on an unsuspecting public in the late summer of 2007 this is arguably the best film of the "POV Camera" genre, the only one where the POV technique is wholly justified and totally believable, and the less you know about it beforehand, so much the better.
The US remake/re-creation "Quarantine" exists solely as a sad exercise for wimps who can't handle subtitles. This is the one to watch, and the one which will set the standard by which all others will be judged. It is quite simply brilliant, uncompromising and superbly executed.
Don't read anymore reviews. Avoid spoilers. DO NOT look at the trailer (for this or the remake).
You want a really good scary movie? At this point you have all the information you need to know.
See it - it's a must May 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have just seen this film at the Spanish Film Festival in Sydney, Australia. It rocked. I have to say that it lived up to the hype surrounding it. I went with a bunch of friends and by the end we were laughing nervously at the film, jumping and applading at the end credits.
It is a shame that some have given away the story here. I guess it is just part of a review. My suggestion is to just see it. LOok at me I love it so much I am pre ordering it from the UK :-)
See it with a friend. YOu won't want to be alone.
28 Days Later set in a sealed-up apartment block! May 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow. This, along with Pan's Labyrinth and The Orphanage, shows that the Spanish can truly beat the Americans at their own game. I won't give you the story again, as other reviewers have already done that. Suffice to say, that this is a sweaty, palm-gripping claustrophobic story that will keep you glued to the screen.
Nice build-up, great premise, interesting charachters, and fast-moving, gory effects...what more can you ask for? Buy or rent this when you can. Well worth your time, unlike much of Hollywood's recent output.
