Amazon.co.uk Review It's not easy being an ogre, but Shrek finds it doubly difficult for an ogre like himself to fill in for a king when his father-in-law King Harold of Far, Far Away falls ill in this third Shrek movie. Shrek's attempts to fulfill his kingly duties play like a blooper reel, with boat christenings and knighting ceremonies gone terribly wrong, and to say that Shrek (Mike Myers) is insecure about his new role is a gross understatement. When King Harold (John Cleese) passes away, Shrek sets out with Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss-in-Boots (Antonio Banderas) to find Arthur (Justin Timberlake), the only heir in line for the throne besides himself. Just as Shrek sets sail to find Artie (as Arthur is more commonly known), Fiona (Cameron Diaz) shocks Shrek with the news that she's pregnant. Soon after, Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) sends Captain Hook (Ian McShane) in pursuit of Shrek and imprisons Fiona and her fellow Princesses as part of his plan to install himself as King of Far, Far Away. Shrek finds an awkward Artie jousting with his high school classmate Lancelot (John Krasinski) and, while Artie is certainly no picture of kingliness, Shrek is determined to drag him back to Far, Far Away to assume the throne. Mishaps and comedy abound, including a spell gone wrong that locks Donkey and Puss-in-Boots inside one another's bodies. While Fiona and the other Princesses prove they're anything but helpless women, Artie and Shrek battle their own fears of inadequacy in a struggle to discover their own self-worth. In the end, Shrek, Artie, and Fiona each learn a lot about their individual strengths and what truly makes each of them happy. Of course, it's the pervasive humour and wit that make Shrek 3 so side-splittingly appealing. --Tami Horiuchi

Alright July 1, 2008 This is probably the worst shrek film that has been released it's is quite good in some parts but the rest is boring i was falling asleep when i was watching this.
Good but nowhere near as good as the first two. April 22, 2008 This is nowhere near as good as Shrek and Shrek 2 but is still well worth watching because it is still a good film. There are quite a few really funny moments.
Very enjoyable family film.................. April 21, 2008 I have to agree somewhat to some of the other comments that it wasn't as good as both Shrek 1 or 2, but nevertheless, it is still a most enjoyable family film and not worthy of 1 star as others have given. It still caters for both children and adults and I'll look forward to seeing Shrek 4 when it's due to be released in 2010.
disappointment March 6, 2008 I loved the first two shrek movies but made a terrible mistake by deciding to watch the third inspite of all warnings. Should have listened!! If you like to cherish the memories and the fun of the first two shrek movies, better not watch the third
??????????? February 24, 2008 Sometimes I'm prepared to admit to being a bit different. I really liked this! I thought the story line was clever, involving various cartoon characters and the script made me laugh. Not only me, but my wife and kids as well. What can I say! It isn't a classic animation but it's way better, in my opinion, than most of the reviews suggest. Having watched the special features, the cast (voice talent) seemed to enjoy this one just as much as the first two and commit just as much to it. I guess everyone is different and you'll just have to judge for yourself. Take the risk and watch it might. You might be pleasantly surprised!
