5 out of 5 stars What's better than phenomenal? WEEDS 3!!   July 8, 2008

Is it possible for a phenomenal show to get even better? Yes, Weeds season 3 proves that it is possible - believe it or not!!

The season starts out right where we left Nancy and Conrad in the weed-less growhouse at the wrong end of a lot of guns. Nancy's son, Silas, has stolen the weed because he wants in on the family business and he is pulled over in his car with the weed in the truck, curtesy of Celia Hodes and some stolen cameras. Meanwhile, Nancy's brother-in-law puts out an Amber-alert for Nancy's younger son - and yes - it gets worse!!

The beauty is that Weeds still has a realistic feel to it and entire growhouses full of wonderfully wicked, dark humour.

There are so many aspects to compliment. Season 3 sees new characters: Sullivan Groff, the man behind the fabricated Majestic and Tara, a Jesus-loving pott-dealer. Oh yes, and the title song, "Little boxes" played by an assortment of different artists. And, and, and the dialogue... it's unbelievable.

What can I say, I'm addicted and loving it!!

Louise

5 out of 5 stars Funny and Very Unpredictable   June 21, 2008

Just coming to the end of watching all three seasons back to back.

If you haven't seen any of the Weeds seasons yet, do yourself a favour and start from the beginning to get maximum enjoyment as well as to understand the characters.

This season sees Nancy find and lose a friend, resolve the key business issues which were becoming a veritable millstone. The call to turn up to the DEA office is priceless. Shane challenges the fundamentalist summer school about the separation of church and state, suffering the consequences. Andy gets a get out of the army free card. Celia ends up in quite a hole.

The script writing is in a superb class of its own. You never really know what's going to happen next and the humour has had me falling off the couch laughing so hard at times. I also like the way the closing song of each episode ties in well with the last scene.

Although Weeds is marketed primarily as a comedy do not accept it as such and I think you will get more enjoyment from it. What I don't nderstand is why so few people in the UK have heard of this series. It's brilliant.

5 out of 5 stars Best show ever   May 13, 2008

Another fantastic series from a show that's been consistently great. The storyline is darker, but remains highly enjoyable and funny throughout, Doug and Andy still the 2 greatest characters, possibly in any television show. While shows like Scrubs are getting old and less funny, Weeds is going from strength to strength. Highly addictive and worth watching, especially with series 4 starting in the summer!
