A little frustrating July 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
No matter what I do with this indoor aerial, the picture quality on at least one of the main channels is not good with ghosting adding a whole new dimension. I'll move the aerial to get an okay picture on the current channel but if I change channels I may have to get up and move the aerial around again. It's a little frustrating. It is obviously not the perfect solution for my situation.
Cheap & Nifty July 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this aerial for 2 reasons - firstly we needed an aerial for our new telly which had freeview built in and secondly because i'm tight and didn't want to pay very much. Well I was not disappointed on either front. It picked up loads of freeview channels from a room in the middle of our flat which has no external walls. Picture quality is great and it doesn't even cut up too much when you walk past it. One thing I would say is make sure you put it quite high up for best results. From shelf about 4 foot up it picked up about 8 channels but after moving it to shelf about 5.5 feet up it picked up over 20 channels.
I would recommend this product without hesitation.
Great aerial! Cheap too.. May 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought a freview box but after discovering that it wouldn't run from my tv-top extendable aerial I looked to the web to find an indoor aerial with an amplifier so that I could watch freeview.
After reading many reviews of much more expensive units I came across and bought this aerial, and it's great! I could only get 3 grainy channels normal TV before, and with the aerial I could only get better reception but not perfect (maybe if I'd played around with tuning I could have). But with my freeview box I can now get freeview in perfect picture, it's great! Simple to set up too, just screw in the aerials if they are needed, plug into mains & tv and switch on.
One thing I have noticed though is that when I'm on my mobile phone the picture sometimes freezes while I'm watching TV but this isn't really an issue.
A great little aerial for a very reasonable price, would definitely recommend!
Works well for FM May 1, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We get poor FM reception in the kitchen, since the small stereo isn't hooked to the outdoor aerial. I found the connection from the Stand aerial was a male plug, for TV, whereas my tuner needed a female connection. I cut off the male plug and spliced on a female one and now get perfect stereo FM reception.
I would have awarded five stars had a female adapter been included.
Disappointed April 23, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Firstly, the service from the seller is excellent. Arrived very quickly and was packaged in both a box and bubble wrap envelope for protection.
I bought this product on the strength of the reviews but must say I'm really disappointed. It's for use on a 19" HDTV in the bedroom - renting with no outdoor aerial.
I already had an "All For One" aerial from Argos 30 and can only get about 30 Freeview channels (no ITV ones). I eagerly set up The Strand hoping for an improvement but I ended up with exactly the same channels after a re-tune. I also tried plugging in an extra aerial into the back of it but there was no improvement.
In summary, if you don't have an aerial - this is as good as any other. If you already have one, then I'm not sure this will really improve things.
