Having a fondue set already, I made this purchase with the aim of going electric.As intimate or warm a candle or small alcohol flame might be, this electric fondue is far better at maintaining constant temperature. Does chocolate, cheeses, creative dips and it's especially better with oil fondues, eliminating our ritual of having to fry the remainder of the food, after already re-heating the oil several times.
It's a good size, probably a little too big as there's a lot of room to knock other forks around, especially for 8 people. It comes with a rim with notches to hold the forks for help, but if the manufacturer used some hooks on the forks themselves to improve the stability (and make it less easy for someone else to knock the fork over to the other side of the bowl) then it'd probably get rid of this. This leaves you to rely on guest discipline (which isn't easy when everyone has had a little bit to drink as well!!)
Impressed, I would recommend fondue to anyone for a more social way of having a meal with friends, made even better with this great item.
