Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Found what I thought I'd lost!   August 22, 2007

Within 30 seconds of the first spin of this album I knew I'd once again found the STP sound I thought was gone forever! I've loved STP since Core, and I think Scott Weiland was a superb vocalist, but it's clear now that the STP sound had a lot more to do with the DeLeo brothers than Weiland.

Army of Anyone is tight, punchy, soulfully felt, and fun! Most of the familiar moods and textures are here plus some new ones. Richard Patrick has a great voice too, and the only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is that the mix is a bit too compressed and static.

This is not just substitute STP. Check it out!

4 out of 5 stars STP + Filter = Army Of Anyone   June 12, 2007

THE FACTS:

Scott Weiland left Stone Temple Pilots and created some stupid little band with the left overs of Guns n Roses. The remainders of STP made friends with The Filter lead singer and discovered they could write music together.

THE PRODUCT:

With so many disappointments from the ex-grunge legends (I won't mention any names, they know who they are!) it's needless to say I was skeptical on this albums release. But 3 months after purchase I can honestly say this album delivers. It has no cheesey lyrics, the music is the STP we love, the drummer is a liitle more rock orientated than that of Eric K from STP and perhaps a little more "fancy" (which is great at times). This album boasts some great tunes, and the vocals compliment the music wonderfully (at times the vox are a little too quiet in the mix, but thats a matter of opinion).

THE REVIEW:

If you love and miss STP as much as me then don't expect a replacement. These guys have a lot of similar sounds to STP but also a few new tricks up their sleeves with the aid of the new drummer and Filters singer. I still listen to and enjoy this album ... I recommend you to do the same.

The only thing stopping me from giving it 5-stars is that it ain't no "Tiny Music ..."
