Three Words: What The Hell? February 26, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This item, on it's own, looks a pretty appealing album, but it leaves out two of the best songs from 'Sex and the City'. Namely 'You Got The Love' by The Source feat. Candi Staton, which was very bittersweet, it's a feel good song for the ending of SATC which left viewers feeling good, but at the same time sad because it's the last time we're ever going to see new episodes! It was such an important song, they really screwed up not putting that in, shame on them. The second best song being "Above The Clouds" by Amber. Loads of people probably wouldn't agree, but this song was g-r-e-a-t; GREAT! Because that episode ('Cock-a-doodle-doo') was very funny, and that song at the end Samantha's "Kiss and Make-up" party for the trannies was really great. This album looked so promising when I was about to buy it, but sadly, missing these songs, I will reconsider.
Poor compilation August 22, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a very poor selection of tracks. Ok so they included Moon River for the Carrie & Big dance but they left out some of the most touching songs from the show. Granted 4 of the best songs were in the last episode namely MC Solaar: La Belle et le Bad Boy, Bob Christianson: The View (played when Big walks into the hotel lobby), Jon Hopkins: Cold Out There (montage of the girls) and Candi Staton: You Got the Love (the very last piece of music played whilst sniffing into my giant-sized box of hankies). Come on guys ..... you should have done better with this soundtrack.
very poor!!! March 24, 2005 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I am very dissapointed by this album...i mean it did have memorable songs such as 'by your side',when sammantha was dancing with richard n 'moon river',the moment when 'big' moves to california. What about'you've got the love' by the source n candi staton???the most important song that finishes the best series ever!!!That song is soooo important to the show n why is it not on the album????Sort it out!!!!

I bought this album expecting it to include songs that would remind me of the fantastic stories in the hit show, how wrong could I have been! 'Moon river' and 'By your side' feature on the album however 'you've got the love' and many of the other memorable songs were not featured. The CD contains good tracks that you can listen to at ease, but the majority have no relevance to the numerous episodes. A crafty way of making a few bucks I think!!
Inspired by...? March 23, 2004 21 out of 23 found this review helpful
Let's be honest - we are all familiar with soundtracks including music 'inspired by' a film or TV series. I guess this means this is music they have the rights to use on the CD, regardless of whether it was ever used in the TV series?! I'm really disappointed it doersn't include The Source Feat Candi Stanton, You Got the Love as it was the track playing at the credits rolled for the last time as we downed our glasses of wine and wiped our eyes... A bit of a rip off, but I bet loads of people still buy it...
