Amazon.co.uk Review If you're a fan of the OC - and if you're reading this you probably are - then this may be the compilation for you. It starts off by alternating between lively, usually upbeat indie rock tracks from the likes of The Eels, The Killers and The Thrills, and more downbeat, angsty, sometimes frankly depressing tunes like Patrick Park's "Something Pretty" and the Super Furry Animals' "Hello Sunshine". Scattered among these are occasional gems like Dios' "You Got Me All Wrong", but the CD seems to run out of A-list material somewhat before the end.Now that the OC has a 'live' band on every week, many of the bands featured on the CD have performed their songs on the series itself, which should provide hard-core fans with a warm nostalgic glow
however, the intimate ties between the series and the CD are this compilation's weakness as well as its strength. So although it may save you from buying some disappointing albums, this one has to be recommended for OC addicts only. --Peter Farnell

Unexpected from a teen series May 23, 2006 Very good album, although not quite as good as mix 1. Stand out tracks: Death cab for cutie a lack of color, Patrick Park something pretty, Keane Walnut tree. These are all excellent tracks; the rest are good except for Jonathon Rice so sweet, The thrills Big Sur and Album leaf Eastern glow which are pretty dull. But this album is definitley worth getting even if you aren't a fan of the O.C. But even better for avid fans like me.

Well the mix is definately worth buying especially if your a fan of The OC. The songs on it change your mood, and I seem to find myself, especially on the more relaxed songs, thinking about the future or what i'm thinking about doing later on that day. Although I had never heard most of these songs before watching The OC, its like hearing that memorable song from when your younger or from a particular fantastic or sad moment in your life. It gives you hope, by reminding you that nothing is certain and that you need to make the most of it. Or it could be just goOd musiC.
O.C is back and way cooler than ever! March 18, 2005 2 out of 33 found this review helpful
Well this album is great! So is the show, I will be moving their soon, cause my uni is there and california here I come! I will be definately playing this album and the last mix, while i'm driving to Uni every day! This album captures not oly thier moments in life but also ours! IT's a soundtrack of the time, of our lives! Music is so good now, and I'm glad it is cause in the 90s it was cool to listen to Nirvana and now we have the killers and other great bands, so music is back on full form and lyrics mean something! not like RnB like I dont know just some indians don't understand! they are so into RnB, and they really haven't opened thier minds! It's not all about he left me, my relationships over blah blah bla!i'M OUTTA here
GO.C. the O.C.... then listen to this February 26, 2005 2 out of 13 found this review helpful
You really have to be a fan of the show, like be into it and all, to appreciate this album. And, of course, if you weren't u wouldn't buy it anyway i suppose... Yeah cool cool album, best track from Keane "Walnut Tree" with a beautiful tune and lovely lyrics to boast. And brings back that image of Seth and Ryan seeing Marissa and Summer after not seeing them over the summer at school. Yeah, and also Specialist by Interpol. Probably cos i'm a huge Interpol fan. Third best Trouble Sleeping, another lovely song. This compilation really does capture the O.C. feel, and a very gut buy (gut=good). So, yeah, jus purchase it if ur unsure, and enjoy! Or not, u know.
Perfect Chilling Out CD! January 20, 2005 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is a brilliant album! After listening to The OC Mix 1 I thought the music could get no better, yet this is as good as, if not better than the first mix. Firstly, it is longer with 16 tracks compared to the paltry 12 on the first cd. Personally I have found the tracks have got a lot more emotional depth now although the two cds complement each other perfectly (the third mix is also great but unfortunately only playable around christmas!). A few of my personal highlights include 'Something Pretty' by Patrick Park which has poignant lyrics and brilliant vocals, 'Maybe I'm Amazed' by Jem which always reminds me of the series wedding, and finally 'Little House of Savages' by The Walkmen which has to be my stand out track of the cd. It is loud yet curiously relaxing, especially for all the stresses that the TV characters and normal late-teens experience! All in All a brilliant CD with tracks to suit everyone
