Amazon.co.uk Review No matter whether or not you think Sylvester Stallone should have gone back to the Rocky trough one more time, this soundtrack is fun because it's basically a collection of music from all the past movies in the saga, ending with Three 6 Mafia's rap contribution to Rocky Balboa, "It's a Fight." The CD starts off with Bill Conti's "Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky)," which remains so totally awesome that we can only bow to its 1970s brilliance; a 2006 remix tagged on at the end doesn't improve on it. Oddly, the sequencing isn't chronological, maybe so the two best-known tracks--the original theme and Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger," from Rocky III--could start off the CD with a one-two punch. But that also means that we zig-zag back and forth in the Rocky saga. James Brown's "Living in America" (from Rocky IV) has aged rather well, but the compilers realized Bill Conti's proto-disco score for the first installment still fares the best, and so five tracks are pulled from it (compared to just one from Rocky V). That old warhorse's still got some juice. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Error in product description January 9, 2008 This product description is wrong. The track 19 "Still Here" that is listed in the product description does not exist. There are only 18 tracks on this CD. This is identical to the US soundtrack, thus rumors of the two versions being different are false.
This is a typical Rocky soundtrack, with every single track on the entire CD being a butchered remix that sounds nothing like the one that appeared in the movie. Every Rocky soundtrack to date has been like this. The Rocky 4 songs sound terrible as usual. You have dialog mixed into the audio tracks, so you get to listen to Rocky's voice every single time. Cringe-worthy.
When are they going to come out with a Rocky soundtrack that is NOT a "remixed" or "arranged" version?
i have never................. July 3, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful

The best rocky compilation around... June 2, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you've ever seen the rocky films you will know that, they contain a number of things that make them great, the cinematography, the acting and the music.
Rocky would not be anywhere near as aweinspiring or heart warming, without its amazingly good scores.
This has got to be the best compilation ever, contaning all of the signiature songs from every one of the movies, from the most well known songs like "gonna fly now" to lesser known gems like "hearts of fire", each song has alot of emotion and power behind it and can be enjoyed by fans or newcomers alike.
Like what another reviewer said this music is great and uplifting, even if you havent seen the films.
the theme songs are what made the films great and if you love rocky then this set should already be on your shelf at home.
Almost Perfect! March 7, 2007 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I'm going to make my review short and simple, the songs are brilliant, and they are all in brilliant remastered sound quality.
However the reason i did not give this 5 stars is because they left off a couple of the best Rocky soundtrack songs:
Training Montage (Rocky IV) The Measure Of A Man (Rocky V) Hearts On Fire (Rocky IV) [Extended Version]
Its a shame really, because it would have been the most perfect soundtrack album of all time, but hey its still great, you just have to buy another 2 Rocky soundtracks with it if you want the complete 'best of' :-)
The best soundtrack album ever!!! February 13, 2007 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
Having been involved in a lot Rocky chat in the office for the last 2-3 months I decided to buy this album...I had high hopes and I was not disappointed. I got it before a very long journey so listened to it fully 3 times and can conclude that this CD is the ultimate in motivational music. For example I had an argument with the other half last night, I went for a drive but it didn't let off any steam so I come home and put on Hearts on Fire - instantly I could take on the world and I've had a smile on my face every since!!!
If you're a fan of the Rocky films or just need perking up GET THIS CD,[...]
