Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of the best albums EVER   January 10, 2006

This is a reveiw for a cd perfect in every way, track by track:

Run rabbit junk: 8/10
A rather fast paced and fun track, good to play when you feel like a good bout of shoot em ups.

Yakitori: 8/10
Very fast paced and exhilerating.

Stamina rose: 10/10
A truley brilliant song, with a cool techno thump in the background and a beautifully voiced singer.

Surf: 8/10
Soft and flowing with a gentle beat in the background, rather relaxing.

Where does this ocean go?: 10/10
Ilaria graziamo gives a truly heartfelt peformance with her sweet, soft voice.

Train search: 9/10
By far the best rock track on here, with interesting sound effects in the background.

Syberian doll house: 9/10
Very peacful at the begining, but it slowly turns into a rather disturbing and scary track.

Velveteen: 9/10
Very well paced with a good peformance by Ilaria graziamo setting the scene for a city.

Lithium flower: 8/10
Fun old school rock style with a pretty good peformnce by scott matthew.

Home stay: 9/10
A flowing and slowly devloping track, fun to listen to.

Inner universe: THE BEST SONG EVER CREATED
There are almost no words to discribe how truly exquisite this track is.
It's starts off with fast paced techno, and slowley develops into a masterpeice, with the exquisitly voiced Origa giving an absalutly STUNNING peformance.
The best song EVER!

Fish-silent cruise: 10/10
It's starts off with soft fleeting opratic tones and develops into a techno masterpeice.

Some other time: 9/10
Very relaxing and gentle, good to try and fall asleep to.

Beauty is within us: 6/10
I am afraid this song is not nearly up to the standard of the others, it's not bad, but it's not that brilliant, either.

We're the great: 8/10
Mellow rock style with only a little vocals.

Monochrome: 8/10
Fun and sad at the same time, with mechanical sounds in the background.

GET9: 7/10
This is too short and the vocals are not very well sung.

Rise: 10/10
Would almost as brilliant as inner universe if it was a little longer.
Very well sung and a techno beat in the background.

Overall, this is truly a masterpeice of an album.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Disturbing and meaningful.   February 3, 2005

The three words I use as my title sums this one up completely. A mixed bag of music from the maker of such great soundtracks as Cowboy Beebop and Macross. Even if your not an anime fan this album is a must have...

It varies from the totally electronic and heavy "Train search" to the wonderfully moving "where does this Ocean go?". My personal favourite is "Inner Universe", which as well as being bouncy techno is also the music to the opening credits for the show.

This CD is a must have as it suits all moods and is well put together. Its also reminisent of Akira Yamaoka's Silent Hill soundtracks, so, as you can imagine has a darker side which has the ability to make your spine creep.

A must have for all Yokko Kanno fans.
