3 out of 5 stars Unremarkable   February 7, 2008

Had great expectations for this. But frankly is quite unremarkable. Sounds like demo tracks by Blur for combining folk rock, pop, slide guitar and West End Musical stage show, which weren't good enough, so they were never finished.

If you hear one track on the radio, you know what to expect from the Album, as every track is the same, while his attempt to be 'edgy' with the track titles is contrived and unsuited to this meandering guitar pop diluted squash.

5 out of 5 stars Like Gatsby's smile   January 23, 2008

i met this guy after a patrick wolf gig. he was a lovely chap but to be honest i was more blown away by his sheer ability with an acoustic guitar. the duet with patrick was the highlight of the evening, and boy oh boy can this guy entertain. he's awesome. the music's awesome. every now and then when it pops up on shuffle it just seems appropriate, i always WANT to listen to it. that's not normally the case with a lot of music, you need a mood but that's not necessary here. give it a go....

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Debut   January 20, 2008

Big fan of the test icicles Dev's former band and this couldnt be more different fantastic melodies and definately my favourite album of 2008 so far

Single Galaxy of the lost , one of the most lovely songs you are likely to hear this year, reminds me of one of my favourite bands of all time the go-betweens and Dev has the potential to be up there with the genius that is Grant McClellan

Hoping to catch him live soon

Highly Recommended!!!
