I love POd for their innovative mix of metal, rap and reggae. Bought this for the few rarities and new tracks, wasn't worth it. If you are new to POD then by all means give this album a listen but I would advise you try their album "Satelite" first as this is a great album and can be purchased very cheaply. "Testify" is also good but do start with "Satelite".

So that's that then. The end of a 14 year run on Atlantic Records and the inevitable Greatest Hits, replete with new song and a few rarities to try and squeeze some more money out of a band no longer part of the corporate furnishings.
And it's a shame because P.O.D. were / are capable of hitting some pretty high heights, and their "Testify" album from earlier this year was a sparkling return to form after their poor third album. But it obviously hasn't shifted enough units hence the rush to whap this out in time for the holiday season. So what are you getting for your money.
17 tracks, seven of them from the first two albums, two from their drab third album, three from their last as well as a new track recorded for this album, "Going In Blind" and an outtake from "Testify" - "Here We Go". There's also a track lifted from the 2005 EP, "The Warriors EP Vol 2", "Truly Amazing" from the soundtrack to "The Passion Of The Christ" and "Sleeping Awake" from "Matrix Reloaded".
Which is a fairly even spread of material but the compilation, like all their other albums, varies in quality from the magnificent to the mundane. For every moment of genius - "Boom", "Lights Out", "Rock Of The Party", "Roots In Stereo" and "Youth Of The Nation" there's a "Southtown", "Will You", "Here We Go", and even the new single "Going In Blind" dragging things back down. P.O.D. deserve plaudits for standing out from the dull nu-metal that brought them to prominence and for amassing more good songs than the likes of Fred Durst has had hair implants. It's a shame that their best album, "Testify", may just drift away, but if one person hears "Roots In Stereo" and rushes out to buy it, then this will be a worthwhile release.

Finally after waiting since 1999 for a greatest ahits P.O.D deliver one with a bang & a reminder of what a legacy they left with Atlantic records. The songs on here date everything P.O.D have achieved as a group especially for their positive & kick ass rock music (which is quite rare in the music industry).
I only hope their new song "Going In Blind" gets the airplay it deserves this is another strong and great song from P.O.D & I hope the album gets the promotion it deserves as well as a good chart position (there's still time - buy it & get it into the top 40 - this is because P.O.D deserve it).
I hope P.O.D tour the UK/Europe to support this Greatest hits collection as I know their fanbase over here is ready & waiting. I can't wait for the new record, & can only hope P.O.D keep on making great, uplifting rock music.
