I stumbled across the Name Lou Rawls on a compilation album singing the tune “The Girl from Ipanema” which also appears on this album. A real hidden gem of an artist who delivers a superb range of vocals with a truly distinctive sound and unique musical adaptations of some well known songs such as “The Girl from Ipanema”. This guy is a quality crooner!. The album oozes smooth easy listening,jazz & soul aided by the high & low tempo’s of big band and flavours of the New Orleans sound. This is one of those few albums which stops you skippin the odd track because every one needs to be heard. This album is all finger clicking, toe tapping, head wobbling stuff…………if you like the classic sounds of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett,Aretha Franklin, Nat King Cole & many others then buy this album now because Lou Rawls belongs up on the CD shelf with them. Buy it & Love it!
