5 out of 5 stars One word : Fabulous, From The Woman Who Needs No Introduction.   May 5, 2008

I haven't listened to all the songs on the album yet, but from the ones i have heard it's clear that it's going to be an amazing album, from the woman who needs no introduction. The songs that i liked the most were `I'm That Chick', this song has class, and I also think it sounds a bit like a song from Michael Jackson's `Off The Wall' album because it has that funky smooth beat, `Bye Bye' a light piece of balladry by Carey all about losing someone, it's very catchy and it's one of those songs that you just can't help but sing along to, `I Wish You Well' i would say this is like `Fly Like A Bird' pt. 2, very gospel and has strong religious references, it's also very deep and Mariah defiantly expresses her feelings with the use of good backing music, good lyrics and her 8 octave voice, i love this song, one of my favourites and the reason why i like Mariah Carey for this sort of music, `For The Record' it's very catchy, i never thought she would include the music sampled on her perfume advert, because i never thought it could be made into a proper song, `Cruse Control' a mid-tempo song under the reggae influence, very flowing very smooth, Carey changes her vocal style half way though the song to suit a more reggae sound, `Love Story' it is what its say's it is, the song is a story of two people falling in love and staying together forever, it's memorable and has a strong hook, `Touch My Body' the very fun & sexy lead off single, nice song, but I don't think it was quite the right song to represent the album, because as we know on songs like, `I Wish You Well' and `Bye Bye' they are fairly deep, meaning it's not just about fun & games, and anyone who has only heard the first single may misinterpret the album for something it`s not. Finally the club jam `Migrate' it's an ultramodern classy affair that basically wants us to `bounce' as it say's, it's very similar to `It's Like That' from `The Emancipation Of Mimi,' on this song both Carey's and T-Pain's vocals were computerised, it adds a good effect though, and the song opens with Mariah's trademark high notes.
A grand effort from Carey, i wouldn't say it was her absolute best, but having said that it's still extremely good, it showcases the sides of Carey we haven't yet seen, in my opinion it's a must have for any Mariah Carey fan.

5 out of 5 stars Mariah does it again!   May 4, 2008
Following the sucess of "The Emacipation Of Mimi", R&B Superstar Mariah Carey comes back with another superb album. The Songs differ from club bangers to emotional ballads but each song has made the album what it is! Here is how i rate each song on this album

Migrate (Feat T-Pain) 5/5 - The First song on the album and one of the best, a definite club hit, produced by Danja this song will definitly make you want to dance, T-Pain's appearance is just an added bonus.
Touch My Body 5/5 - The first single for a definite reason. It's just so cute and bubbly and just gets stuck in your head so you will be singing it over again.
Cruise Control (Feat Damian Marley)4/5 - Mariah's take on a jamaican accent, although it seems a bit dicey she does pull it off, again very catchy, one of those songs you play in your car with the top down.
I Stay In Love 4/5 - One of the first ballads on the album and one to remember!
Side Effects (Feat Young Jezzy) 5/5 - My favourite song on the album by far, another club hit, its just so catchy it just makes you want to shout the lyrics.
I'm That Chick 4/5 - A bit like "touch my body", its a very cute and bubbly song.
Love Story 4/5 - Another Ballad that is very effective, apparently going to be a future single its not hard to guess why.
I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time 4/5 - Another good song, nothing much to say about it really.
Last Kiss 2/5 - One of my least favourite songs on the album, it's just a bit boring to be honest.
Thanx 4 Nothin 3/5 - Its not the best song but it does stay in your head and a lot of people can relate to it.
O.O.C. - 5/5 - The album comes back, a definite club hit i just love it!
For The Record 5/5 - This is one of my favourite songs, its just soo good even though its a slow one.
Bye Bye 4/5 - Even though it is an emotional song it is very good, it does make you smile if you have lost someone you have loved.
I Wish You Well 2/5 - Like "last kiss" its a bit boring.
Heat 4/5 - a bonus song that is very good, Mariah getting all tough! i love it!

All In All A GREAT ALBUM!!

5 out of 5 stars A Perfect Formula   May 1, 2008

Emancipation was close, but this album has restored my faith in Mariah's talent as the master of R&B. This album is slick, professional and free of filler tracks. Migrate opens the album with a true hit, and I'm That Chick is impossible to get out of your head. Mariah has wisely picked her collaborators and gets a bonus point for shying away from the Timbaland treatment. The vocals on each song are sung with the perfection of a professional - even the high notes are still well within Mariah's reach. The ballads are hopeful not depressing, and tracks like O.O.C are great to walk down the street to. This is an album which isn't pretentious or sugary. It's playful and we are invited to play along - Touch My Body is the game to play. Mariah is maturing, even if her insecurities seem to be returning. Perhaps this album will give her the confidence to wear the R&B crown she has flirted with for so long.

Mariah is no Madonna, that's for sure. Yet again she delivers a tired, uninspired record that sounds exactly like all her previous ones. She used her voice at the beginning of her career, now she doesn't even do that. I'd give this a zero if I could!
