5 out of 5 stars Well, it's got me converted   April 11, 2008

Touch My Body is the perfect song for the spring and equally perfect in its serving as a taster for Mariah's new album - E=MC2. It's a wonderfully upbeat song full of joy and as well as bearing all the trademark catchiness and top-notch production you'd expect from a Mariah single, it really sounds like she had fun recording this one. The brilliant video follows in much the same vein, Mariah herself looking simply gorgeous in it as she does on the single cover.

The song is a slick, sensuous blend of twinkling piano and lyrics that end up just going round and round your head all day - a truly addictive song you'll never get tired of that serves as a perfect showcase that Mariah has most definitely still got it. I wasn't initially a fan of her, not having heard many songs but Touch My Body has certainly got me converted - brilliant song.

The version with the dream is well random, on the whole not really changing the song that much except for a short bit after the first chorus and adds a few quirky little bits and pieces throughout the song. A little jarring after the familiarity of the original version

The Seamus Haji mix could have been better though. It's OK, i suppose as standard commercial dance material, but the seriously slowed down vocal takes some getting used to (The full length 9 minute version is included on here as opposed to the radio edit on CD 1).

Track Listing:

1. Touch My Body (Radio Edit)
2. Touch My Body (Remix Featuring The-Dream)
3. Touch My Body (Seamus Haji Club Mix)
4. Touch My Body (Video)

5 out of 5 stars A New Touching Era!   April 1, 2008
The sultry melody of "Touch My Body" first premiered on B96 earlier in the month. It was everyone's first taste of Mariah Carey's elusive 14th Studio album E=MC2

It most resembles Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby" moulded with the format of "We Belong Together" to come up with something inexplicitly beautiful.

Now if you are not a fan, and you only think of Carey as a Screeching Herbal Warbling girl, then you might actually love this song because there's none of it. Its very RnB and you would expect something like this to come from Beyoncé or Estelle (Better vocals clearly however)

All round complete entertainment. Carey sings about a "secret rendevous" with a certain lover, the guy from 30 rock respectivly. She goes onto explain that he better not show clips of their "enganglement" on Youtube, as he "throws her on the floor, wrestles some more etc etc etc".

And for the fans, its beautifully ornate as a fresher Mariah Carey, with vocals in better notch than they've been for a few years.

Deffinatly worth a listen, once twice and many many more times.

Oh, and by the Way, since this single debuted, the fans'll have had plenty of time to get closer to other tunes in Mariahs new album, through exclusive performances on "The Hills" and on "SNL". "Migrate" and "I'm that Chick" are both superb...The album is gonna blow this world apart..BELIEVE ME!

And while your at it, "Touch my Body"!
