Take a bow...................... May 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this CD because of the track; "Take a bow". It's a song many a women would identify with. I just hope they exhibit the strenght shown in Rihanna's lyrics, calling it quits with "him" knowing what you're worth and seeing that there is no way in the world to wake up a dead donkey. Patience, time and wisdom will find you a real man! Well done Rihanna!!!!!!
This track will be stuck in your head like a tumour! May 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For the past year, Rihanna's had the upper-hand over godesses Beyoncé, Ciara, Amerie and all of the other top R&B ladies! "Take a Bow" is definitely the new "Umbrella"- in-fact, it's better! Composed by ace Genius Ne-Yo and Stargate, this ringing R&B ballad promises anything but disappointment! The song is also produced by mint production-team Stargate!
Rihanna's vocals are powerful and the snappy, crisp backing drums are allusive of that in "Hate That I Love You". The lyrics are ingenious yet quirky and the rich beat polishes them to perfecto! The beautiful melody slots nicely and adds rhythm to the track, shaping tune and symphony.
"Take a Bow" has the potential to do well Chart wise- it's already reached Number two! It'll only take one listen, and I guarantee it will be stuck in your head for weeks. Memorable and tuneful, "Take a Bow" is first-class and pure quality. Definate 5 stars!
Rihanna, good on ya! Now, we're just hungry for the re-release of "Good Girl Gone Bad"! Give us more, Rih!
Rihanna looks all set to extend her string of mega-hits with this awesome tune May 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful

Re-releasing an album with a brand new track seems to have become quite the fashion now what with Bloc Party and 'Flux' and Kelly Rowland with 'Daylight'. With Rihanna, the Good Girl Gone Bad album proved to be one of the strongest releases of 2007, spawning 4 hit singles. The question, of course, is where to go next?
What us fans got is Take a Bow, a delightful piano-ballad, that bears all the hallmarks of a classic Rihanna tune - memorable lyrics, a great melody and a slick modern R&B production. The final product serves as a fantastic showcase for Rihanna's vocals and the song slots right in with other Good Girl Gone Bad ballads like Question Existing and Rehab.
What with the song already rocketing straight to number 2 on downloads alone, it looks set to reach number 1 with the physical release, going one better than 2006's 'Unfaithful'. What both songs highlight is Rihanna's versatility as an artist, able to turn to any direction she wants and pull it off with ease. Take a Bow is testamant to that and is a dead cert to boost her popularity even further.
As for the b-side, we get a nice little remix of previous single 'Don't Stop The Music'. It's pretty standard commerical dance stuff but has some nice disco strings in it. Rihanna's been pretty strong in terms of remixes in the past so its pleasing to see this trend continued on this single.
