4 out of 5 stars From a new Kirk Franklin fan   June 10, 2008
Although I'm a Christian I have to confess that my music collection contains more R&B than gospel, but I am more than happy to add this album to my collection. Whilst I have been aware of Kirk Franklin for a while this is the first album of his that I have purchased. The standout track for me is "Why" featuring Stevie Wonder which samples Denise Williams' "Free". I heard it being played in someones car and it was this particular track that led me to buy the album - Quite frankly I would have brought the album simply for this one track.

4 out of 5 stars Imagine Me   March 15, 2008
Just bought this CD on the back of the song 'Imagine Me'. Even if you aren't a big gospel fan buy this CD even if just for 'imagine me'. It is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. I have heard it many many times and it still brings tears to my eyes.... and that's not because I had a tough childhood etc.... it is simply because this is a very powerful song and well worth the 10 for the CD.

5 out of 5 stars Can it get any better? Every song a hit, Blessed to be a blessing   July 4, 2007
There are very few artists who only have to bring out an album & I'll buy it without hearing a few samples, Kirk Franklin is definitely in that category, he never dissappoints and what an album. Which is my favourite? all of them! From "Hero", to "Shout" (listen to the words), "Imagine me" speaks to all of us to the funky "Looking for you" they're all up there, though my absolute favourite track "Why" featuring legend Stevie Wonder had me up and dancing in seconds, "First Love" tugs at you and is an awesome testimony to God's love for us, his son's peom is brilliant, my nephews listen to it time and again - great affirmation. If you want to introduce anyone to how inspiring Christian music can be, lend them this CD. Very truthful, open and inclusive. He's definitely been blessed.

5 out of 5 stars Maybe his best yet?   March 5, 2007

I had to listen to this album a couple of times before I could get into it but having gotten into I just love it now. I went from thinking it's his worst album ever to thinking that it's his best album ever.

For me the stand out tracks are Brokenhearted, Could've Been, Better, Imagine Me, Let It Go & Why.

Interesting to see the sort of people he's collaborated with on this album. He collaborates with the legend that is Stevie Wonder (on Why) and P.O.D. front man Sonny Sandoval (on Let It Go). One wonders who on earth he would collaborate with on his next album. I don't know if it would possible but it would be nice if he could do something with Alicia Keys.
