| Editorial Reviews:
Amaozn.co.uk Review Winnipeg, Alberta, is a very cold place. Perhaps The Way I Feel, Remy Shand's debut, recorded in his Winnipeg bedroom, is his effort to cozify the Canadian city. It's a warm slice of the vintage soul that's been popularized by artists like D'Angelo and Maxwell, replete with shimmering musical touches--a clavinet here, a Rhodes there. Shand's falsetto often mimics, and at times evokes, soul legends, though his sometimes skinny delivery lacks both the pelvic thrust and the world-on-my-shoulders weight of the genre's finest. Songs like "Take A Message" are winsome, if wispy, in their romantic sentiments. "Rocksteady" features lovely instrumentation punctuating Shand's vocals, while the heftier "Liberate" finds him rebelling against an unnamed enemy (the Mounties?). Pleasant, but not always convincing. --Cristina Restrepo

TheWay I Feel? March 12, 2008 Actually,I feel suitably uplifted by this slice of modern soul produced by the muti talented Shand.A consistant album that has heavy Gaye influence and shades of Isleys and Prince. This album is a steal at the price now. Sadly multi talented does not cut the mustard in a commercial talent show led industry.Just like my latest discovery Lewis Taylor these artists fade into obscurity before they even have a chance at success.Let's hope the might of Motown will support Shand in his musical ventures.Sadly I doubt it.No release since 2001 and no news on the website are ominous signs ofMr.Shand's future.Don't let this stop you enjoying a fine album.

The Eminem of the R&B world (well white but with much nicer language). This guy is going to be the next big thing in R and B / soul. The other reviewers mention new artists as a comparison, but I think that some of the songs on this album are more reminisent of the the Al Green era. This is a real chill-out album. Buy it - you will not regret it.
No more boring car rides June 19, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Think you'll be trapped in a car this summer as you head to your summer destination? Then worry no more since there's Remy Shand to pop in your CD player! I happened to catch his video on MTV and took the risk that the rest of the CD would be as good and it is. Shand's style is reminiscent of Jamiroquai, think mellow, with Lenny Kravitz thrown in, but of course, he has a sound all of his own. You won't be disappointed with this collection of great tunes!
One beautiful, romantic, sexy new sound. May 1, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The combination between elctronic and pure soul music, sounds sweet and romantic; but is sexy at the same time. It is incredible that he plays all the instrument. He voice is kind of sweet but strong enough to give the feeling to the lyrics.
Smooth. April 30, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This really is a great album. I had only heard the first single, Take A Message, at the time of buying it but gladly the rest of the album lived up to my expectations. I'm a big fan of R&B/Neo-Soul and this album sits really nicely next to the likes of D'Angelo, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. It's hard to pick a favourite track as each is as equally brilliant as the last. A Very smooth, relaxing and amazingly good album from start to finish.
