The Nikon 35mm F2D is a bargain of a wonderful lens, the older version Nikon 35mm F2, that I had seen, before and bought one long time ago, had lubricant leaked on to the diaphragm blades. But the 35mm F2D lens is the best well made I ever seen, very smooth focus, 35mm F2D has got built-in aperture ring which makes me to use it with my film Nikon F100 camera and also using it with my Nikon D200 DSLR.
The 35mm F2D filter size is 52mm, now I do not need to buy another filter for it as I can use the same filter as I use with my Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens.
Optically the 35mm F2D is the best 35mm lens yet from Nikon. It's much better that the 35mm f2 AIs old manual focus, the lens is not that heavy and still retains the best quality as the old version (35mm AIs, and 35mm f/1.4 AIs). The 35mm F2D is good to use it as standard (50mm) in digital cameras. With f/2 wide aperture I do not need to use flash unit for indoor photography. |
