For the price I bought the Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens is unliveable as the result of this lens is so good that I can not imagine, I was looking for a lens to do the portrait job I have tried several lenses for this job none of them gave me what I wanted, the Nikon 50mm is the one that made my dream true, I love this lens and it is the best of all.
Nikon 50mm lens works with all Nikon Digital and film SLR, currently I am using it with my Nikon D200 and Nikon D40x, with the Nikon D40x I have to use manual focus. I recommend this lens to every one.

Users rave over the nikon 50mm f1.8 lens because it is great in low light condition, good for portraits (although a little long for a general use lens on a digital slr body)and because it costs less than £90. At 50mm nikon 50mm f1.8d performs better than the £1300 AFS nikon 28-70mm f2.8 lens. My copy is also sharper than my 50mm f1.4 which costs 2 times the price! I would recommend that anyone with a Nikon body (film or digital slr) should have one of these lenses in their bag. it is very light compact, I'm very happy with my purchase.
