The new battery grip for the Nikon D300 is more robust that the D200 version. It is easier to control in the Portrait position than its predecessor. It holds only one LiIon battery and the other is stored in the camera body. This could cause a problem if you needed to change the Body battery quickly but my experience is that the battery lasts long enough in the grip and when that expires the camera automatically changes to the body battery. I do not foresee any problem. Also there is a holder for 8 x AA batteries of any type you choose which replaces the LiIon battery in the grip. The Battery grip is expensive but a very solid product. I like to use the grip because I feel it balances the camera. |
