As a ameture photographer, I am always trying out different photographic items. I regularly use the Nikon D70 and really appreciate the results from the SB-600 flash that I have bought a week back. The SB-800 is a bit more powerful, but the tradeoffs did not seem worth the price(about 150 GBP). The SB-600 is quite powerful and has a quicker recycle time along with more flashes per battery set. SB-600 can also be used as an independent remote flash unit with the Nikon D70 (or with another Nikon SB-800 unit). SB-600 is great for backlighting.
The SB-600 flash itself is very sturdy with a metal hotshoe. That will please anyone who has had a cheap plastic hotshoe with the old type flash units like Nikon SB-28DX version. The SB-600 unit has a diffusion screen built-in for closeups. Automatic flashhead zoom in the SB-600 links directly to the camera. that is very good of Nikon.
The Nikon SB-600 is fairly easy to understand illuminated control panel on back(actually a bit clearer than the more expensive version Nikon SB-800). Power saver option allows The Nikon SB-600 flash unit to partially shut down after a short period of non-use. The SB-600 powers back instantly when the camera's shutter button is lightly touched. the SB-600 is lightweight, compact, powerful enough for wedding photogaraphy, and indoor. The only missing item in the SB-600 kit is that Nikon does not supply the extra defuser, but I bought the Nikon SW-10 defuser separate which normally comes with Nikon SB-800, it works with SB-600 flash unit perfect but it is slightly loose hold. |
