A wonderful idea July 24, 2008 These parcel safes should become common place because they offer a viable solution to using the internet and post far more.
We are having parcels left in the safe but no delivery man as yet has actually locked the box. Hopefully, in time the delivery industry will catch on.
great, saves loads of time and time wasting at your local delivery office July 4, 2008 This has saved me loads of trips to the delivery office. I usually buy off the internet so parcels arrive anytime im not in. Well worth the money but people must realize that parcels that need to be signed for will not be left, no matter what, them services are used to protect the seller in case of dishonesty of receiving or not receiving the product.
Easy to remove from wall July 4, 2008 I fitted the box to my wall, having drilled the four holes with the drill supplied, using the rawlplugs and screws also supplied.I gave the box a modest pull and it came straight off, pulling the rawlplugs out of their holes. Not sure how true it is a 20 stone man can sit on it after fixing as stated? I came to the conclusion that the drill is slightly too large for the rawlplugs. Suggest throwing away drill and supplied rawlplugs and using a 7mm masonary drill and brown rawlpugs,as i did, and it then fixes to the wall good and tight. Also the illustration on the lid for the delivery person shows a clockwise turn to lock, strangely mine turns anti-clockwise to lock! Could this be a SPECIAL Amazon one.(Second)? The box itself is adequate for its purpose and hopefully will be very useful for deliveries.
Great but completely flawed product June 13, 2008 I've had mine for 12 months. Its sturdy, easy to install but completely useless. No delivery service will use it!!! It comes with a unique number on the top that the delivery people are supposed to use if they require a signature. Mine is located next to my front door but even though there are clear instructions and authorisation from me - Royal Mail Recorded Delivery, Special Delivery, UPS, Fedex, CityLink - None of them will use it. I am sick of the fact that the only thing that gets left in it, are bigish packages that don't need a signature in the first place and junk mail. Why the hell this company doesn't get agreement for at the very least, Royal Mail to use this damn thing I have no idea. Its a great idea that will frustrate the hell out of you ! So disappointing :-((
brilliant May 22, 2008 I just wish more 'self assembly' items came with the same very clear instructions that this box did. Coupled with containing everything you need to fit it (except the drill).
Have just fitted it myself in about 30 mins ! Any other single woman could do the same. Brilliant !
