Great book for young babies! June 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this book after reading recommendations on amazon and my baby seems to love it. He loves staring at the faces and the other patterns on the pages. The book crinkles so he loves to feel it and the velcro strap to attach it to cot/pram is a great feature. The book looks boring to parents but baby loves it! A great buy.
perfect for newborns June 18, 2008 I bought this book within the first few weeks of my baby's birth, after I learned about monochrome vision. She was enthralled with the contrasting faces and her own reflection, albeit a little warped (flexible reflective front page) but is not so fussed with the patterns (suitably Cornish colours I might add!).
I always have it to hand to occupy her interest when the moment arises and now, at twelve weeks old, she is beginning to appreciate grabbing the soft and scrunchy pages. No doubt she'll soon be sucking it stupid in her pre-teething state!
A great little buy and excellent value for money. Very versatile, I highly recommend it as a staple item for new babies.
Faces - Wonderful book for baby June 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have just given this book to my little five month old grandson and he was enthralled with it rightaway. After a few exploratory chews on a couple of the page corners he settled down for a good "read". He loved the fact that it has different parts and that he can bend the pages etc. His greatest enjoyment has been to get the outside pages under his feet and let the middle ones come up through his legs. Then he starts kicking and just loves to hear the swishy sounds he can make.
I think that this is a very well thought out book for young babies. It incorporates plenty of useful and sensible features that parents want to see in a book for such a young child. I like the contrasting colours used and the fact that there are only a few colours used too. Also, the use of simple shapes throughout is good.
I can thoroughly recommend this little book - and by the look of things - so can my grandson!!
Another happy baby May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this after reading the reviews on here. At three weeks he didn't show much interest at the pictures but was fascinated by the mirror on the front page. In week four he's started to be captivated by the baby picture, is neutral on the mummy picture and cries on the daddy picture :( Still a very good buy as his reactions to the book seem to change all the time.
Baby's First Book May 20, 2008 When i received this book i thought it was a little disappointing, but on sharing it with my 6 month old daughter i was pleasantly surprised by her reaction. She seemed to really enjoy the simplicity of the pictures and text. It has become a favourite.
