My cats love this fountain and certainly drink plenty. The water is fresh all week, but I have to make sure its not near a window, as it goes quite green inside. The only down side is the cleaning, its quite hard to clean all parts of it and the water looks quite cloudy by the end of the week. I would recomend this fountain to anyone, but keep it out of sunlight!

Kitty loves it...she's so fussy but the fountain is great and being a Bengal, she loves water, so I am happy that whilst she tends to mess with her water, at least now I know its being filtered.

I now have one fountain in every cat room, as the cats prefer this once they have used it to ordinary water bowls. It is easy to assemble and easy to clean. I cannot recommend this enough.
The biggest plus is that it is a real timesaver in a multi-cat household, so daily top-ups are not necessary. The filter can be cleaned and used a couple of times before replacement and post pet product retailers stock the filter, making it easy to source.
The only thing that may make this product better, would be the facility to completely dismantle it, remove the pump and put it in the dishwasher. The additional Catit mat is not necessary and any waterproof mat is sufficient to protect floors and carpets, as the Catit mat seems to attract dust and dirt more readily, it does however, match the fountain and is attractive when paired with it.

We bought one of these last year, we have 4 cats and they all love it! I was tired of leaving several bowls of water around the kitchen in the height of summer in case they ran out and this solved our problem. We have ours on a timer switch so it comes on several times a day rather than being on constantly, but as soon as one of our cats hears it 'click on' she runs out to it. The filters do get quite grubby, tend to get a lot of hair trapped in them and they can get quite a lot of limescale, but it comes apart easily for cleaning so its not really a problem and you can get this with a normal bowl anyway. I would recommend the Fountain especially in multi cat households its great!!

We bought this in desperation because it seemed that our two furry little treasures had taken to drinking out of the sink in our lovely new kitchen. They refused to use their water bowl, but since a previous cat had died of kidney failure, we were worried enough about their fluid intake (not to mention what our friends thought of finding cats in the kitchen sink) to invest in a water fountain.
We chose the Catit Dome after seeing the rave comments on Amazon (though I confess we had to source and buy from another UK supplier since Amazon won't send electrical goods to Ireland and more.)
When it arrived, it looked huge, and when we plugged it in it took us an hour or two to get air out of the system so that it ran almost noiselessly and smoothly. Even then, the cats wouldn't go near it - our little ginger seemed positively petrified! That was 10 days ago and now they absolutely love it. Psycho prefers to drink from the dome, while Mini used the bowl - you should hear the little burbling sounds of pleasure she makes while lapping. The blue mat came free with it, but we actually find it quieter (and less visually obtrusive) without.
It's definitely a big hit with us all - I just wish we'd bought it ages ago.
