Oh dear, of dear... get me a Doctor May 18, 2008 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Well we had a long wait... but the good Doctor finally arrives as a console game. And it's rubbish ! The PS2 may not be the most advance console these days but this is more basic then some of the old games I played on my original ZX Spectrum.
The game is based on the top trumps card game and uses artwork from the recent Inifinite Quest animated adventure. I say artwork because their is virtually no animation to be found. The Doctor may nod his head or the Captain Jack open his mouth but don't expect any more cartoon adventures here. No opening title sequence, no voice overs, nothing.. it is literally playing a card game on a tv screen, with no thrills what-so-ever.
It is quite addictive as with all simple premise games but don't splash out on this console version. Why not buy the card game and get your mates round. Another wasted opportunity.
EXTERMINATE PS2 May 8, 2008 4 out of 37 found this review helpful
Ok, it may be on the PS2 or the DS only which are both pretty rubbish compared to the 360, and it may be based on a very stupidly annoying card game but it's good to know that there will finaly be a Doctor Who game available. It apparantly uses the graphics from the Doctor Who cartoon which looked a bit to much like Paper Mario but at the end of the day despite the serious let downs this game is sure to have, it's Doctor Who which is the most amazing thing since Star Trek or Power Rangers so it's worth a play at least.
