great March 22, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
this game is really fun and unique. I think it is clever and good how u get points for exacuting stylish manuvers and get even more when u combo them today. the steering is tricky but so fun when u get it perfect with the rite slide. my only criticism is its a bit short and the oversteer can get soo annoying. and the graphics excellent much better need for speed and burnout. i think u should definatly buy it if u like tricky and fun racing games
project gotham racing? January 4, 2008 Im not sure about this game. The graphics are awesome but you oversteer at every corner and the only difference between the cars is their top speed. I think this game is good for first time players in all car games. I wouldnt reccomend it to experienced gamers. It isnt anything special.
Top Gear!! October 11, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was a huge fan of Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast, so when I found out that PGR3 was in the pipeline I was excited, VERY excited! MSR was unique in the way you were awarded for how you drove, not how fast you drove. PGR3 is everything MSR was and so much more. Everything about this game oozes class. Graphically it's gorgeous! everything from the hands on Big Bens clock face to the gravel on Las Vegas strip is beautiful but it's the gameplay where this game excels. You are actually awarded for how you drive fast, not how fast you drive, and thats what makes this game so brilliantly unique. Drifting your Ferrari around a 90 degree bend and leaving the pack in your own tyre smoke, breathtaking!
More arcade than sim September 1, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
PGR is more of an arcade style driving game than a driving sim. Anyone who has played GT4 will be disappointed by the way the cars handle, it's all gas and oversteer. The car selection is a little predictable and the cars are all really pretty similar.
As a pick up and play driving game this is good fun and easy to use, if you want a big complex sim buy Forza instead.
One of the 360's Best Racing Games! August 20, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
PGR 3 is in my opinion one of the best racing games on the X Box 360 console. At first when I first bought it, I thought PGR3 would be average at best due it's low price tag, but after playing it for the first time for just half an hour, I quickly realised this definatley wasn't the case at all. Putting it simply, I loved it. There are different game modes in PGR3 to choose from. You can do a solo career which is consists of 23 different locations, each of which have a selection of events included in each location. Each of the events differ from street races, overtaking a select number of cars within a time limit, timed races, one to one races and cone challenges where you have to race between cones on the track and use drifting to achieve a high score. The races themselves are fairly long, especially on higher difficulty levels. There are 4 difficulty levels, these are bronze, silver, gold and platinum. I advise, especially if your new to the game, you start playing for the bronze medels first. I completed the solo career mode at bronze difficulty in 2 days and for doing this you will of course gain a very nice gamerscore. After you complete the bronze difficulty level, you can then start the game at silver level and work your way up to platinum level from there. The other game mode is online career which if you have xbox live you can race against people online which is tough but very enjoyable and fun. What I love about this game is each race is different from the last. The variety in the gameplay is fantastic and keeps you hooked as well. Overall this is a great game and I recomend it to anyone. If you can't afford to get Forza 2 or Colin McCrea DIRT, invest in PGR3 you won't be disapointed. For the price, it is definately worth every penny.
