Amazon.co.uk Review In a nutshell: It may have taken the world by storm with its huge range of genuinely innovative new games but there's no denying that the Nintendo DS is not exactly the most portable of portable consoles. That's all changed now with this sleek and sexy update. The lowdown: When the Nintendo DS was first announced it was dismissed by many as a white elephant - with a gimmicky interface and underpowered graphics. Over 15 million sales later and the story is a little different. The DS Lite is fully compatible with all existing Nintendo DS (and Game Boy Advance) games but it's smaller, sleeker and lighter - with a new design that perfectly matches the Nintendo Wii console. The most impressive feature is the new backlit screens which offer the sharpest image ever seen on a portable console. The DS Lite is available in three separate colours: White, Black and Pink. Most exciting feature: The DS Lite now has four brightness settings - the highest is brighter than even the PSP and is clearly visible in any lighting condition. That sound? That'll be Sony executives running to the hills - wearing sunglasses. Since you ask: The Nintendo DS is the fast selling console ever in Japan. When the DS Lite was released, it sold out instantly, with queues of over 1,000 people a common sight. The bottom line: The DS gets a face lift to become Nintendo's best looking portable ever. - Harrison Dent

And its black how cool is that! Took me a little while for me to find out how to turn it on (5 hours hehehe) But finaly i relised it was on the side not on the top like the other nintendo's. =). But i can't tell the diffrence of the weight of each other so i don't know why it is called lite. But it rocks.

Bought this my wife and from the day she opened it up....SILENCE !!!! except for the tapping of the stylus, but I can put up with that..looking for some more games now !!!!
Brilliant Fun March 18, 2008 I love this thing, bought one for my girlfriend and since in bought Advanced Wars:Dark Conflict, i have lost my life to this bundle of tricks. Me and my friends are always down the pub playing 3 way battles that can take us upto 8 hours. Whats even more amazing is the battery lide, which lasts all through it without problems. The wi-fi access is cool, lets you play loads of people and with classics like mario kart and brain acadamy this get used more than my 360 (which i thought would be impossible). Probably gonna have to get a 2nd one, so my girlfriend can have her valentines day present back lol.
ITS JUST FANTASTIC!! March 6, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm 29 and I just love my ds lite. I've spent so many hours playing it. The joy is in its portability, play upstairs, downstairs, in bed, even on the toilet!! The touch screen element and use of the stylus makes for unusual and addictive gameplay. Worth every penny, buy one!!
Maybe the best Nintendo console ever made! March 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is just amazing. Anyone between the age of 5-100 would love it! Its got so many games to choose from, and the touch screen is really, really useful. I doesn't just play DS games it also plays GBA (Game boy Advance) games. I would reccommend: Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, New Super Mario Bros., Metroid Hunters and Brothers in Arms DS. It's really great! All i can say is : BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!!!!
