No, no, and no October 30, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The game's awesome, great and challenging. I love playing the game most of the time. Especially since it lets you play Vergil too along with our all time favourite Dante. The only cons of this game that I experienced is that sometimes it takes the mick and if you're a short-tempered person, believe me you'll either end up shrieking your lungs out to the world, make your fingers become frail and sore or most likely break your controller (like me - I had to buy a new one during mission 8). This is one of those hardcore games for the best players.
Demons, guns and oversized swords.... you just can't go wrong June 5, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game has to be the most kickass game on PS2, well thats what i think anyway. You play as Dante, how is half human, half demon and has enough cheesy one-liners to shake a stick at. This special edition is mostly the same as the normal version, but has some cool extras, like 'bloody place'. This is a litte extra away from the main story in which, in each level you fight a differnt wave of demons n' stuff, but there is 9999 levels to it. The levels get harder as you go on, so it can get rather intense when your higher up. And another extra is being able to play as your evil twin brother vergil. But this for me was a bit of a let down, as the amount of techniques he can use is a bit limited, so he can be a bit boring after a little while..... one more thing if you get this game after buying the normal number 3, you will have to do the story all again as you can't transfer save data, but that didn't bother me
But on a whole,it is an amazing game....
Devil may cry 3 special May 26, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The first big thing about this remake is that you get to play as Vergil. Dante's slightly less friendly brother. And in all honesty playing as him is... a big let down. With only 3 swords 1 style and 1 'gun' Vergil is pretty boring. Other new features include a survival mode where you have to fight through 9999 waves of monsters. I bought this game because my original version of DMC3 snapped in half but i wouldn't advise buying the special version if you've already got the original. But for those who have not played DMC3 yet in any form this is definately better than the original
Capcom Delivers, again..... April 9, 2007 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Capcom no when to create a good game, like dead rising or lost planet or even resident evil 4, so you know what your getting with devil may cry, the third in the series: devil may cry 3 thunders onto the PS2 in tremending arcade style fashion. Arcade style/third person is greatly mixed, with fast paced action, and tremendous graphics this game is a hit, but why only 4**** stars? what's wrong with it? Well they havnt done much to the gameplay nor giving you anything else to do the storyline gets stuck half way, but then again that's capcom, capcom know there stuff the game is still entertaining it's still a instant classic but hey capcom when you release Devil May Cry 4 do something new.****
Can this get any better? April 5, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game just rocks. I have played this again and again, given myself sore fingers and disturbed my neighbours with my shrieks of pain and joy* (*delete as appropriate). It looks good, sounds even better and with the style system you can't get away with just bashing the X button for 20 levels. You have to defeat your enemies with class - and you have to figure out the best style and tactics to do so otherwise you'll be seeing the game over screen a lot. The cut scenes are wonderfully atmospheric, develop the story and don't go on so long as to slow the pace. This is not just another random run and beat 'em up. This game is extremely difficult if you decide to venture into the hard levels - but the challenge is there and when you defeat a boss and finish a level the feeling of satisfaction is immense. In the SE, you get to play as Vergil, Dantes superpowerful twin brother. The fact that he is so powerful takes some of the challenge out of his game, but hey, it's all good. The reply value is excellent - you will play this more than once, trying out the different levels and enemies with different styles, weapons and tactics, and each run through is as good as the first. This game is a must buy and I can't wait for the next installment on the PS3.
