5 out of 5 stars its boring but it works!   January 10, 2006

I originally bought this when i was 18 in 2002. After A-levels, my already pear-shaped figure had grown and i was a v.large size 14 on the way to 16. I exercised but nothing really spurred me on. Except this video. You start to feel and see differences after the second session. I particularly suffered from tree-trunk legs, and this video really does combat them and mold them into long lean legs. After a year I was a size 8-10 and I still am. Because you see the change it really helps you stick to losing weight.

I started doing Callanetics in 1996 and lasted a few years religiously doing it most days and getting really good at it. Then, as fitness became more and more big business I tried other things like yoga, pilates, gym, swimming, weight lifting, etc. However, I am going back to Callanetics like a long lost friend! It's great as you can do it anywhere with very little equipment.
You do need to have cardio in your life too and I know Callan supports this (see her Fit Forever book)as obviously a toned body is going to show up only on slimmer people. Give it a go - you don't need to complete the tiny 100 movements straight off, I initially started with 20 and worked my way up and took breaks whenever I needed them.

5 out of 5 stars If you are not getting results you are not doing it right   July 29, 2005

I had just been to a Callanetics class and seen an improvement in my waist in 10 minutes - absolutely incredible. There was also a noticeable improvement in my midriff after about 20 minutes. I bought the video and the book to help me to remember the moves but I think I greatly benefitted from one to one instruction to keep me right.

I am doing this since My second sons birth and It really works and keep you fit and young looking, The only shame is, we cann't buy this on DVD,because you cann't buy videorecorders any more, so the VHS tape is out of date.
