Wonderful product November 12, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
VisionLab is essentially CompositeLab and EffectsLab combined. The extra cost of the product is due to the included commercial license that means pro users don't have to include the 'FXhome credit' required by the other two programs. So, if you don't require the commercial license and aren't worried about the convenience/increased workflow that VisionlLab gives then you are better off purchasing the individual products and saving money. VisionLab is amazing! Just a few years ago something like this would have cost thousands. Yeah, After Effects probably has a few extra's but is it worth paying that much more for features you will likely never need. FxHome are film makers/enthusiasts and know exactly what their customers require. The range of effects plugins increases almost daily on the FXhome site (created by users and Fxhome) and are free to download. We use this software for effects/compositing in our animated films and find it invaluable and reliable. As previous reviews have stated, the Forum and support are the best you will encounter. If another user can't help you then someone at FXhome will....and fast!
Best Software Ever November 8, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I really could talk for days about what this software can do, but i'll try and keep to the main points. I've owned VisionLab for two months now and haven't regretted it one bit. The four effects engines are so versatile that there are litterally billions of effects you could crete. You're really only limited by your imagination. Add to that all the grading filters and the ability to composite using green/blue screens effortlessly, and you've got a pretty sweet program, worth much more than the asking price, and with a commercial license too. You could get 'after effects' and do all that i suppose, but that'll cost nearly 4 times as much.
Where this program really outshines anything else out there is in the support, which is basically flawless. Often you'll be able to chat live with the software developers about any issues your having. I don't know anywhere else that even tries to match the level of support Fxhome gives day in day out.
