Starting point August 10, 2007 This CD-rom is a reasonable starting point but is really just a vocabulary list. It is good for usually getting the correct pronunciation (as certified by a Lithuanan friend) but I don't feel that I can construct any more than the basic sentences. This could be an addition to another course or an absolute beginners vocabulary builder.
TALK NOW - Excellent Methods, Lacking in Vocab November 16, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This CD does indeed have an excellent way of teaching you a new language. I found the repetition and pictures really set the words and phrases in my mind. However, I did find certain words and phrases were missing from the lists. For example the translations for "goodbye", "my name is" and "do you speak english" would have been useful to know. None the less I now know the Lithuanian word for Chopsticks, which is nice. All in all a worthy purchase.
Pretty good! It helped me.. July 25, 2003 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
As a UK citizen visiting Lithuania for the first time I found this CD very helpful. It's simple to set up and the speech helps with the correct pronounciation. The tests are good and the picture/word association does help you remember. I got by on my holiday and the Locals do apprechiate the effort. A good starter package!
Interactive learning at its best! October 31, 2001 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Having zero prior knowledge of this unusual East European language, I decided to try a different approach to learning a new language. I am so pleased I did! Within a couple of hours I had built up a considerable knowledge of words and simple phrases and all without any feeling of hard work. The key to this is the way you learn. It is all done by visual association and repetition. It is almost addictive the way the course makes you want to do more. In my humble opinion this system of learning a new language is simply EXCELLENT.
