1 out of 5 stars Far too complicated   July 6, 2008
I bought this piece of software based on the reviews of others as a replacement for my current Internet Security software. I have managed to install it on all of my 3 machines. Two of my machines have already been upgraded to version 9.

From the point of view of a home user, this piece of software is far too complexed for what I want from it. I now have applications and programmes that fail to run properly and even with my own knowledge of PCs, I am in no position to do anything about it. The software is far from user friendly. I have had the piece of software for about a fortnight and already I have ordered a replacement. As soon as it arrives, I will be uninstalling Kaspersky from all of my computers.

All I can do is put it down to experience. Use it at your peril. You may be lucky as clearly some of the reviews on here state. From my personal experience there are far easier pieces of software that do the same job. When you have problems with those, 9 times out of 10, you can rectify those problems yourself.

1 out of 5 stars Useless   June 16, 2008

Purchased this security from Amazon, cleared out my old security and loaded the Kaspersky which only half loaded leaving many important areas including emails unprotected. After several attempts I contacted Kaspersky help desk who took FIVE DAYS! to respond, and then without an answer.

By this stage I was concerned at having no cover had purchased another package which did everything properly and did it all first time.

Had my fingers burnt quite badly here, not what I expected from Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product - found virus Symantec did not   June 14, 2008

I was a Symantec user for many years and felt comfortable with the product, until a virus invaded my Laptop, which syamntec never detected. In fact symatec wanted to charge a high fee for checking my pc.
A friend recommended to check out Kaspersky, so I run the trial version, which immediately discovered and destroyed the virus together with a few other nasty cookies.

It was easy to install and if something puzzles you the customer support team is there to help - free of charge - unlike Symantec. Iy is less power demanding unlike Symantec.

Updates are automatically downloaded at least once a day(Symantec only once a week), leaving your computer protected against the latest known PC nasties. All updates run in the background and do not interfere with the usage of your PC.

It is incredible value for money and I subscribed for three years (did not need the three user edition, as I only got one laptop).

5 out of 5 stars Another satisfied user...   June 12, 2008
I switched to Kaspersky from ZoneAlarm because I had got a new laptop with Vista Home Basic and ZoneAlarm was attracting dreadful reviews for its poor Vista support. I am now running Kaspersky successfully both on my family computer (running Windows XP with a 2.66 GHz processor and 1 Mb of RAM) and on the laptop (again, only 1 Mb of RAM). No problems at all either with install - plaudits to ZoneAlarm for its uninstall routine; some other packages seem not to clear down cleanly, so causing problems for the succeeding security protection - or the operation of Kaspersky. Very happy after 6 months of use and no plans to switch to a different provider.

4 out of 5 stars Kaspersky internet secruity 7   June 1, 2008
Better than Norton anti virus, which was a pain the neck quite frankly.
My Kaspersky monitors in the background without taking up to much memory.
It was able to detect hidden threats, unlike Norton.
Well worth the money and is better than Norton.
