Fantastic - Washing Machine Proof June 23, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Absolutely no problems with this product - deleted the free software that comes with it and still have full capacity!
As for build quality - unquestionable! So far mine had been: Dropped Stood on Put through the washing machine thrown around etc
still working fine =D
great value for money too!
Very good June 13, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm very happy with my little usb stick! Its been on my keys for a good month now and has survived well so far! It is very quick and i'm very pleased i chose this usb key over the rest.
Nice memory, nice price but shame about the life May 30, 2008 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
For the size of the memory, this is a superb product though only affter two months of use, the product's plastic casing has broke, the memory stick fails to function and it leaves me in an extremely difficult position during a crucial period when the contents of the memory stick are essential to my daily life - they cannot be accessed.
It's the equivalent of a Value Memory stick but without the quality to match.
5 stars for the product and 5 stars for their tech support. May 30, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these 8GB Databars in January and the same happened to me recently. The stick only showed 8MB available (very disappointing). I called the Freecom support line, who immediately diagnosed that the problem was due to me disconnecting the stick from my PC with the software still running, (silly me, the manual tells me to close the Carry it Easy software before disconnecting). They gave me a fix and hey presto I am back to my 8GB stick. It is a shame the software is only a 30-day trial but I wont be using it anymore, the DataBar is perfect on its own. Perfect size, perfect price and perfect capacity. 5 stars for the product and 5 stars for their tech support.
DO NOT PURCHASE May 28, 2008 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
Extremely annoyed! I read the reviews and was extremely careful whilst following the instructions. I entered a password for the private data, aware this would encript part of the drive. I exited the program and formally ejected the drive from windows. On re-inserting the drive it was unreadable with the only option to format. This I did reluctantly, after several more plug-in/ejection attempts. Resulting in the drive becoming 8MB and effectively useless.
