How to waste over 400 June 28, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
With the cost of replenishing the ink for my Canon printer being over 50 and A4 prints over a pound a time! I thought I could save myself some money by calibrating my monitor and printer. So I purchased SpyderPro3, thinking that it would contain software to calibrate the printer no such luck. After all whats the point of just having pretty colors on your monitor, it's what comes out of the printer that really matters! So I decided to go the whole hog and buy Spyder3Print, you would think for the money it would come with a proper case to protect your investment it doesn't. You would think it would have a manual that a complete novice like myself could peruse at one's leisure, with step by step instructions and illustrations to help guide through the process, it doesen't it has online help which personnaly I hate as you are constantly going backwards and forewards on the screen. But what really annoys me is that after calibration, and you are not happy with the result it doesn't explain how to correct things. I would advise anyone who want's to calbrate their monitor and printer to check blog's on the internet as regards to the best kit. The X-Rite Munki which calibrates both monitors and printers has had good reviews ,I would liked to have bought one but I already had the SpyderPro3. With a proper manual or better still a DVD included in the kit, it would make it easier for technophobes like me to use. But as it is I would advise anyone who like myself has trouble using the TV remote to buy this setup as a last resort.
