Art Explosion 600,000 Windows

There is a massive amount of image files on there, and a lot of them are very good. But there are also a lot of quite useless graphics on there, like meaningless squiggles, banners with specific wording on (such as advertising that a tyre shop is having a 50% sale), and just general useless pictres.

When I came to actually need a graphic of a taxi, there were only about 8 available, and they were all very unprofessional cartoons that were not even nice.

The other thing that really annoyed me was the lack of organisation of the graphics.
The package comes with a browser software to glimpse through all the pictures as thumbnails, and the browser allows "keywords" to be associated with the images so that you can search for, say, "bell" and get up all pictures with a bell in. However, none of the pictures actually have keywords already entered against them! So you cannot use the search facility without typing in keywords for every image yourself. And on top of that you can't save your own keywords, as you can't write to CD.
The browser also does not use a single catalogue file for every image, but per CD, so you only get to browse through the contents of one CD at a time.

One nice thing, is that the package comes with a book of every graphic. Unfortunatly the images are small and black and white. To find your picture of a bell, you need to look it up in the index at the back of the book, and then look at every page entry against it until you find your graphic. Then insert the appropriate CD, search through the catalogue for that CD, and download it. A very long-winded process !

I would only give this program 5 stars if it ditches the bad graphics, put more good graphics on, and had a browser program for the whole package, which had keywords pre-entered. Kinda like the Microsoft clipart gallery.

It contains everything from photos of ballet, landscape and teddy bears to funny clip art and fonts. Also it has a lot of images that can be used as frames, borders and other design images to be used for webdesign. In addition it doesn't have those annoying numbers as titles of images, but has the name of the image. Makes it a lot easier to locate the images you're looking for! The images are also sorted alphabetically which makes it very easy to browse through both the CD's and catalog!
The catalog shows all of the clip art images, and also which catagories of photos that can be found on the 29 CD's. And it is very easy to locate an image you like in the catalog on the right CD.
If you're looking for photos and also clip art to use in especially webdesign, then this is really worth it!

I bought this last year and have found it extremely useful. It really does cover just about everything you could think of, so you'll have no trouble finding just the right picture or photo for the job. I find the catalogue a bit cumbersome and tend not to use it too much, but otherwise this set if wonderful to use. You won't regret buying it!

This package was bought for me as a present. I am overjoyed. I wanted clip art and I certainly got it. Up to now I've found exactly or very close to just what I've needed. Those close things are easily adaptable.
