Most cliparts just online available! Don't buy! January 3, 2007

When I bought this product, I wanted an offline clipart collection which I can use anywhere. When I installed this collection and the clipart browser I discovered that the 3 CDs just include a bit more than 100.000 cliparts. The handbook revealed that the manufacturer thinks it is impossible to store all the 3 million cliparts on CD and therefore make them online available with a 1 year subscription. After 1 year you have to pay ca. $[...].
I was very disappointed, since there was no hint neither in the manufactures description of the product nor on the product itself. Even though the online collection is quite good but too complicated to browse through I cannot recommended the product. With this product the manufacturer sells you some useless CDs and a link to his own webpage which is just valid for one year.

IMSI used to publish great clip-art collections, with thousands of images on lots of CDs - yours to keep and use for ever, and with a very good keyword search facility (which worked fine on Windows 98/Me, but keeps crashing in XP). I thought this was going to be a similar package: lots of clipart, hopefully on DVD and with an XP-compatible browser. BUT IT'S NOT!
All you get is a 1-year subscription to a web-based collection of clipart. It is an impressively big collection (they claim 6 million pices), but even on a fast broadband connection, searching is painfully slow. The box also contains 3 CDs with a very small collection of web-art and 'HiJaak' (PC and Mac versions) which allows you to convert image formats on the clipart you download. It automatically installs itself when you put Disc 1 in your PC; and automatically uninstalls itself the next time you insert Disc 1 - NOT VERY USEFUL!
