EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI is designed to work with the latest TTL auto exposure systems of all popular manufacturer’s 35mm SLR and Digital SLR cameras.
Autozoom function in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI is for changing the illumination angle in accordance with the lens’ angle of view:
This function automatically sets the optimum illumination angle in accordance with the lens’ focal length in a range from 24mm to 105mm. When the built-in Wide Panel in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI is used, the flash can cover the angle of up to that of a 17mm lens.

Bounce-flash function in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI with movable flash head:
The EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI flash head can be tilted up by upto 90 , to the left by 180 , or to the right by 90 . Bounce photography, in which light is reflected off a white wall or the ceiling or a reflector, increases your range of photographic expression.
As the EF-530 DG Super flash head can also be tilted down by 7 , light can also be used for close-up shots.

EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI equipped with Auto Power-Off function which prevents wasted power:
Even if the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI flash is left with the power on, it automatically shuts off, if it is not operated for a certain length of time. This conserves battery power in flash photography. When the shutter button is depressed slightly, the power turns on again, and charging resumes in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI flash unit.

Auto Focus auxiliary light is very convenient for photography in a dark place:
AF may not work appropriately in a dark place. However, the AF auxiliary light mechanism of EF-530 DG Super SO-ADIlets you control AF even in situations where autofocusing is difficult.

Manual Switching of the amount of light in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI flash unit:
The flash power level of the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI can be set from full to 1/128 for Sigma and Canon mounts, and full to 1/64 for Sony, Nikon, and Pentax mounts.

Note: Cameras’ built-in flash can be used for triggering the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI, located away from the camera. The models for Sigma (SD10), Canon, Pentax D-SLRs, and Nikon (D50, D40, D40x, D2 Series and F6) can utilize an EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI mounted on the camera hotshoe for triggering single or multiple EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI units located away from the camera.

Slave Flash with EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI:
The Designated Slave function in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI allows you use of two or more EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI flash units and also flashguns can fire together by using the channel settings. Since the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI is equipped with this function, it can be used with all camera models. It is also possible to use the camera’s built-in flash or another flash unit in Normal Slave mode (Flash Exposure must be adjusted manually).

Modeling flash function to check for shadows
Like a studio flash unit equipped with a modeling lamp, the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI also offers a modeling flash function, enabling the user to check for intense reflections and shadows, before actually taking the flash picture. (for Sigma, SONY, Canon, and Pentax cameras).

The FP flash function of EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI for high shutter speeds:
For focal-plane shutters, the flash synchronization speed is limited to coincide with full shutter opening, thus limiting the use of high shutter speeds with flash.
The FP Flash function in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI makes flash photography possible at shutter speeds greater than the normal synchronization speed. When the lens diaphragm is set to larger apertures to limit depth of field in synchronized daytime shooting, high shutter speeds can be used with EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI to balance the daylight and the flash light, at any shutter speed. This function is not available with some cameras models.

Rear-curtain synchro flash mechanism for natural representation of motion
When shooting a moving subject in slow synchro photography, selection of the rear-curtain synchro mode in the EF-530 DG Super SO-ADI allows the flash to be triggered immediately before the rear-curtain of the shutter closes. Unlike front-curtain synchro, this mode records blurred trails behind the subject rather than in front, for a more natural expression of motion. Rear-Curtain Synchro function cannot be used with some camera models. It can be used with cameras providing rear-curtain sync. only.
