Product Description It's about the same size as a tennis ball and weighs just a little more, but take a Powerball in your hand, set that rotor in motion with the cord provided (or use your finger when you get used to it) and you'll experience an extraordinary sensation:Power ball slowly comes alive with gyroscopic force - a sublime yet pleasant resistance to your movement which is transmitted directly into your wrist and arms and which provides soothing, non impact rehabilitation at these lower speeds.

Great for Idle Hands & Very Addictive July 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My motivation to purchase the Power Ball was to improve muscle in my forearms for golf and help top-up my fitness whilst sat on boring audio conferences at work. This leads me to the three clear reasons why you would purchase one of these:
1. it's great for muscle tone in your arms (fingers, wrists, forearm, biceps & triceps) 2. Moreover, it's very addictive and makes you very competitive (even if only with your own previous best) and, importantly 3. It is immensely fun
There have been a couple of poor reviews suggesting that the gyroscope doesn't spin for long, but they simply haven't worked out how to use it -the gyro will spin forever so long as you are turning the Power Ball using your wrist and the correct technique. It does take a few goes to understand, but once you've succeeded it becomes intuitive and extremely fulfilling.
Power Ball is one of my better purchases that, if truth be told, was done on impulse but is now used everyday when I'm around the house or sat at my desk.
One piece of advice is to get the 'Pro' versions that come with the digital counter and functions; it is much more rewarding when you can see your progress and it's worth the few pennies extra.
Therapeutic and somewhat addictive! June 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had one of my fingers broken and sustained some ligament damage late last year, i had been experiencing increasing discomfort and pain in my dominant hand, i assumed that i was destined to give up on cycling and climbing, then i stumbled upon Powerball on the Amazon site.
I have been using it now for about 2 months, wow what a difference, whether it is psychosomatic or not, my hand is almost fully recovered and the overall strength improvement in both hands and forearms is very noticeable.
If you are suffering with hand problems, i would recommend you give it a try, excellent and a bit of fun! I have had to buy another for my wife, to stop her using mine all the time!!!

Top notch June 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I would recommend these to anyone they are extremely addictive and very effective.
I dropped mine on the second day which caused an annoying clicking noise but after about 10-15 minutes of use at an ok spin rate that has gone and only comes back every now and again but it is nowhere near as loud so it isn't too bad.
I would definitely go for one that has a counter if you are planning on getting a powerball purely because it just adds to how addictive it is i have this and a standard one but i only ever use this now as i like trying to better my past high scores and just keeping track with the spin rate.
Feel the burn baby... May 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When mine was delivered, the display was dead; however upon consulting the PowerBall website I was able to remove the old batteries (the website also stated that the batteries should last "four years"). A voltmeter confirmed that the batteries were indeed useless. After a quick jaunt down to the local high-street jewelers and 10 quid lighter, I put in the new batteries and the display was functioning. All of that effort is enough to lose one star. However, where this product makes up for it is that once you get the gyroscope err.. gyroscoping and you manage to keep it going for a few seconds without hearing the thing rattling, the temptation is to do it again. And again. And again. Even though your arm already feels that it is going to drop off.
I can imagine that with persistent use it would be easy to see/feel to build some sort of "tone" in your arms; as after just a few goes you can feel the muscle/fat burning. The counter/record-keeper display makes it good fun too.
I wonder if I can get one of these things to work on my beer belly...
Amazing Bit Of Kit May 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the neon version after reading the other reviews and since it arrived this morning it has been in constant use. My hand and arms are almost falling off but it's sooooooooo more-ish!! High score at the moment 10,600. Loads of videos on YouTube on how to start it, how to get it up to high speeds and so on. Believe me, at 10,000 rpm it's VERY difficult to hold in the hand ( because my fingers are not yet strong enough ) and takes a lot of care to pass it to the other hand. I actually fitted a hand strap from a Wii remote to prevent dropping it. Guaranteed for life ... money back if you're ever dissatisfied with it ... can't wait for my arms to recover so I can have another go :) Best 16 bit of kit I've ever bought!
