Unreliable and insufficiently robust April 29, 2008 These are great in terms of the information they give and downloading to PC for analysis, using the Polar software, is great . I had used an S610 model for several years before I upgraded to this model. I have now have had two 725x's and both have broken. I admit I did drop(clumsy me!) them however one doesn't expect a 300 watch to fail on a simple drop. The first one randomly reset itself causing me to lose lots of training data. It then failed completely after a while. The second one didn't fail straight away but I hadn't noticed the infra red window had cracked and water got in and 'poof' another one bit the dust . Now back with my old S610 model which still works fine and I have dropped this one many times.
I am going to try the Cateye V3 cycle computer soon and enter the HRzone and other data manually on the Polar software. The Polar software is pretty good and is easy to use and provides good analysis tools. It's a Pity this 725X watch is so delicate.
Great Piece of Kit October 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can sympathise with the last reviewer but must say that if you do buy the IR uplink, cost about 25, then you really do get a great piece of kit. You can download all your data from cycling, distance, HR, speed, amount of climbing. It really does give a wealth of data to help scientifically measure your performance and plan your training.
Very disappointed May 18, 2007 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
Difficult to set up and calibrate. Inaccurate data. didn't realise would also have to purchase IR link to download to pc. All-in-all a very expensive HRM, with little use as a training aid to cycling.
