Disappointed like others - died after 8 weeks!! June 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Thought this was brilliant to start off. Got problems just two weeks in. Telephoned Home Tek help and they suggested there was an air bubble inside which was preventing steam coming out. Suggested I bang the mop onto the floor. This became a requirement every week and eventually, after just 8 weeks, my poor mop died. Back to the old bucket and mop...
Loved it May 1, 2008 Bought this mop after watching all the selling jargon for months on sky but never doing anything about it. Finally got round to getting one and have to say its great. Does what it says it does. Laminate floors are coming up great and its so easy to use, just fill with water plug in and go and with no chemicals (great for us overprotective mummies). Don't take long at all and its done. Only down side is that the wire isn't that long but with an extension cable you can get round the house without the hassel of swaping plus etc. Really pleased
Such a shame... April 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought one of these from Lakeland and a couple of weeks later, a friend bought one too. It was amazing to start with - easy to use, cleaned brilliantly, I thought I had solved the problem of living on a croft with a cream ceramic kitchen floor and a labrador! All was well for a couple of months and then it just suddenly died. No idea why. Then a couple of weeks later, my friend's one died too. Built in obselescence or just sheer bad luck? I see another reviewer had the same problem. Sadly, I can't recommend it - I really wish I could!
Problem solved April 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a number of other contributors have said, read the reviews, saw it on the telly and thought (and hoped) it would work.
General opinion was that it was good on floors, poor on carpet.
My opinion - works great on sealed wood floors and lino (in the kitchen). The glider does seem to work well on particularly dirty rugs (front door, back door etc), but no real wow factor on standard carpets noticed.
My only moans are
the power lead is a little short (as noted in other reviews) the reservior doesn't hold loads of water so frequent refils are needed You'll really need a funnel to pour the water in without spilling it Buy loads of mop heads, you can easily use 4 on one kitchen floor, but they're washable!
Overall, pleased with the product, only had it a week so can't comment on durability. Would recommend

Bought steam mop (partly on basis of reviews ) in January - would have given an immediate 5 stars - thought it was wonderful - used it almost daily to clean laminate floors and it performed brilliantly. However just 8 weeks later it has simply given up working altogether so back to the mop and bucket!!!
