VERY SIMILAR TO COX GUN. WE BOUGHT 3 FOR MORTAR POINTING. THEY WORK REASONABLY WELL BUT DID NEED ATTENTION BEFORE OPERATING I.E. TIGHTEN BLUE PLASTIC NUT WHICH HOLDS BODY TO TO HANDLE. DID NOT USE PADDLES SO NO COMMENT. IT WORKS BETTER THAN THE DURGUN SOLD BY SCREWFIX WHICH IS MORE THAN USELESS, AND ITS LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE.

On the face of it this Silverline product seemed a bargain but it is frankly useless. With the exorbitant delivery costs it is nearly as expensive as a professional quality tool from your local builders merchants. It comes in a kit with a mixing paddle to mix a smooth mortar in a bucket ( I presume this as there are no instructions/ gurantees in the packaging ) The mixing paddle doesn't work as the mixer bit on the nd is only vaguely attached to the shaft and as soon as the paddle comed in contact with the mix in the bucket the shaft rotates but the circular mixer does not. Anyway - we persevere and hand mix a smooth, plasticised, runny mortar which goes into the gun. The plunger has then to be adjusted as it is clearly too small but again there are no instructions. Having adjusted it I start the job and advance well along the joint - for 3 inches! The gun then stops injecting and the plunger will not force the mix through the nozzle. OK - empty the tube, make the mixture wetter and the same happens and no change of mixture and consistency has any effect. After the intial injection of a couple of inches the mix is just compacted in the nozzle section and will not come out.
I normally buy Silverline products as a cheap, disposable tool for one off jobs and they clearly haven't got their act together for more sophisticated items. In conclusion, I wouldn't go near this second rate, unfunctional item , despite its apparent budget price.
