Pump good - plastic bit in valve is not June 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like the pump - but the valve attachment is shoddy - the plastic has been damaged after about a year of being pushed onto bicycle tyres.
I need a replacement hose and valve attachment...
Mine broke too! June 17, 2008 As per the other reviewers, I decided to spend 3 times the price of a run-of-the-mill foot pump on a Michelin double barrel pump, expecting to get 3 times the quality. Unfortunately this was not the case. The pump itself seemed of robust construction, but it only lasted approximately 8 months of light use. It was mainly used for topping up my motorcycle tyres - usually only 2 or 3 pumps at a time - before it gave up the ghost. I did think that maybe I'd just got a "duff" one until I read the other comments on here. I have to say that the gauge was very accurate though, but I won't be buying another. I'll get a cheaper one and use a separate pressure gauge. Definitely not worth the money.
The only really good footpump I have ever bought May 11, 2008 The Michelin double barrel pump is great. Robust, ergonomic and fast inflation. Build quality far exceeds the usual spindly metal-framed affairs. The hose clips neatly away. The gauge readings match those of my professional-quality British Standard approved separate gauge. Most foot pumps have a gauge that is nothing more than an approximation.
I am confused by the review that says "I've looked around and found the Draper and Clark versions are identical." Neither of those suppliers have a product that looks at all like the Michelin. I wonder if that review is against the wrong product?
I also purchased thinking it would be good quality February 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My footpump lasted one week before the plastic parts gave way and air was blowing everywhere but in the tyre. inflated my car tyres on the saturday and checked again the following saturday, it gave up completely when inflating my bicycle tyres so it only lasted for three (2 1/2) uses. Rubbish. I give it one star to reflect that it did actually work twice.
Do not buy this pump! January 10, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this believing it was a good quality pump. After about 5 minutes use, the pipe separated from the pump body. The engineering is crap - what they've done is used a metal to plastic screw attachment, presumably to cut cost. By the way, I've looked around and found the Draper and Clark versions are identical.
