I bought the Tokina 12-24mm lens after making comparisons with three other manufacturers products. The Tokina gave me extremely sharp results, in fact the lens is so sharp I switched off my in-camera sharpening mode. The lens image quality was an far better than similarly priced lenses that I compared it to, and image contrast levels were an improvement over most of the competition.
I have been using this lens extensively for architectural work and I am amazed at the image quality considering the price. Build quality is better than most lenses I compared it to, it has a metalic feel to it although some barrel parts are made of high grade polycarbonate, keeping weight down
The focusing and zoom rings have a smooth feel to them. In general the lens has a high quality feel and look to it.
This lens has been doing the work of my much loved 18mm Nikkor which which now unfortunately does not give me the wide angle view that I require on my Nikon Digital SLR with it's smaller sensor. At 12mm the lens can vignette when using a polarizing filter, at the 14mm setting the problem is stops. When buying a UV filter for the lens it is worth buying one with a thin ring to prevent further vignetting.
I would recommend this lens to anyone, test the other lenses too, but I think you will be very impressed with this product, and the service given by Photosolution
