I saw this first in 1967 on telly. You are hit by Gene Pitney's theme song. The drama is on a high all the way through. The way they treated the girl (raped), in court, was awful... but it was to save the young men from certain death. The local community was confused. The American military was keen to placate the local town people.

A genuine classic.

This is one of the best and powerful dramas about teenagers in the 50s., American soldiers' attitudes towards society, etc. Performances by Kirk Douglas and Fristina Kaufman are superbe and the theme song by Gene Pitney was a hit in the 60s., still enjoyable. It's unfortunate that this movie is not available in DVD, region 2 or even VHS PAL. A total shame!
This is indeed one of the best court dramas ever made and should be viewed by all teenagers at home, in school or elsewhere. Highly recommended!
