5 out of 5 stars EIGHTIES SPIFF AND ROMANCE   February 23, 2005

This miniseries is possibly the best from all those cranked out in the eighties based on a best-selling novel of the moment. There is gripping suspense till the end, when superstar Lilly is to find out who of the three chums from the Swiss finishing school is the mother that abandoned her twenty years before. The production is top-notch: superb locations, lavish wardrobe and overwhelming glamour. But with so much trash whirling around the industry, my only gripe is: HOW COME NOBODY HAS THOUGHT OF TRANSFERRING THIS SERIES TO DVD YET?

I watched this miniseries when I was still a kid. It was the best mini-series I have ever watched to date. Phoebe Cates was superbly puzzle-fit to her role as Lili, and I believe it has been her best performance. The story is well-plotted that all who watch this will agree that it is a very gripping series. You'll experience a lot of mixed emotions for Lili and the other characters and it will leave you stuck on your seat until the ending. A must-see! It's well worth the effort of buying from overseas.

5 out of 5 stars Gripping!   September 5, 2002

This was one of the first mini-series I had watched and I thought it was great. It is superbly cast with Phoebe Cates as Lili. It grips you from beginning to end. The first time you watch it you are on the edge of your seat by the end as you find out who the mother was and I did not guess which one it was out of the three women. Superb watching!
